OUR TEAM

Meet our phenomenal PNB Society team for the 2023-2024 school year.

  • Emma Resendes

    CO-PRESIDENT

My name is Emma (she/her) and I am in my fourth year of PNB Mental Health. I am one of this year's Co-Presidents! My favourite part of PNB is the sense of community in the program! Everyone is very welcoming and willing to support each other! I also love that I can take classes that align with specific interests (I loved special populations!). I’m looking forward to planning great events for students in PNB and helping to facilitate connections between students. In my free time, I love reading, playing piano, going on walks, and spending time with friends! Feel free to reach out to me any time!

  • Esha Patel

    CO-PRESIDENT

My name is Esha (She/her) and I am going into my 4th year of PNB General this year! I am one of your Co-Presidents for the PNB Society and am super excited to be! My favourite part of PNB is the community and the support system created by all the students, staff, faculty, and alumni. There's a lot of academic support, social support, mental health support, and a very strong, well-connected community. A fun fact about me is that I can speak fluently in 3 different languages, speak working proficiency in a 4th language, and am currently learning a 5th language! This year, I am really enthusiastic about working with our great team to host super fun events, provide tons of academic resources, and just give back to the PNB community by enhancing the overall PNB experience for our students! I am super extroverted so feel free to reach out to me anytime!

If you see me around campus, please come and say hi! Especially YOU

  • Tara Nichols

    VP ACADEMIC

My name is Tara (she/her) and I am in my third year of Biology & PNB. I am super excited about being one of this year’s Co-VP Academics! My favourite part of PNB is how many opportunities there are to connect with professors and other students as a part of the PNB community! I am looking forward to running some amazing events and providing opportunities and resources so that students in PNB can have the best experience possible! In my free time I enjoy reading, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, and I look forward to meeting you all at our events

  • Tia Suomela

    VP ACADEMIC

I'm Tia (she/her) and I'm in my 4th year of PNB! I'm this year's co-VP academic. My favourite part of PNB is how it gives you the opportunity to explore a broad range of topics and really discover your specific interests! For me, I'm super interested in child and youth mental health. A fun fact about me is that I'm a swiftie! This year, I'm excited to help plan all the amazing events and make my final year in PNB a great one!

  • Rebecca Madan

My name is Rebecca (she/her) and I am in my fourth year of ArtSci and PNB! I am this year's VP Marketing! My favourite part of PNB is the amazing community. I love getting to meet new people in the program, learn about their interests, and have fun at events! This year, I'm looking forward to documenting all of our events and making the most out of my last year of PNB! In my free time, I love to read, crochet, and play animal crossing! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or just want a friend to talk to :) Can't wait for a great year!

  • Mohid Siddique

    VP FINANCE

My name is Mohid (he/him) and I will be the VP Finance for this year. I am going into my third year of general PNB and chose the program because of both the amazing community and interesting selection of courses! I'm looking forward to helping out in any way I can for all the great events we have planned and meeting a bunch of people in the program! A little bit more about myself is that I love reading and watching shows and have been trying out a bunch of new hobbies like pottery painting and jiu-jitsu!

  • Selena Li

    VP SOCIAL

My name is Selena (she/her), and I'm one of this year's VP Socials :D I'm currently in my fourth year of Biology & PNB, and this is my second year on the society! I love being able to take classes covering a wide range of topics that I'm interested in! In my free time I like reading, cooking/baking, crocheting, and trying out new coffee spots with friends :) A fun fact about me is that I've been lucky enough to travel to over 10 countries!!

  • Ellen Troyer-O'Connor

    VP SOCIAL

My name is Ellen (she/her) and I am in my third year of PNB General. I am so excited to be one of your VP Socials this year! I love PNB because I get to learn about the topics I love, such as human social behaviour, alongside a super cool and supportive community. In my free time I like to cook, play the guitar or ukulele, and rock climb. This year I'm looking forward to helping people in this wonderful program meet and build closer relationships with each other! I can't wait to see you all soon!

  • Viboo Thusyanthan

    VP EXTERNAL

My name is Viboo and I am in my third year of PNB Mental Health. I am your VP External for this year. My favourite part of PNB is that it's so broad. You can get a taste for every discipline and interdisciplinary science that falls under the faculty, which I think is an unique experience that you can't get in other undergrad psych programs. My fun fact is that I recently learned that I am allergic to horses, which has dashed my childhood dreams of owning a horse.I'm looking forward to helping host some amazing events this year and I can't wait to see everyone there! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the society or the PNB program!

Our Ambassadors

  • Ashling Tourigny

Hey everyone! My name is Ashling, yes you read that correctly, “Ash”-”Ling”. My pronouns are she/her and I am in my second year of Human Behaviour. One of my favourite things about being in the PNB department is the fact that I don’t have to take calculus… just kidding! I love that I get to work with and understand people on a level that others don’t. Additionally, I love learning about the brain and how fascinating it is. If you see me around campus I'll most likely be studying in HSL or standing in the Starbucks line so please come up and say hi :) I am so excited for all our upcoming events and to meet all the lovely people of PNB.

  • Tang Tang Guo

Hi! I'm Tang Tang (she/her) and I am in my 3rd year of BioPNB. My favourite part of PNB is the tight-knit community this program fosters. I met some of my closest friends through PNB and amazing mentors as well! The courses are pretty interesting too :) In my free time, I like going camping, skiing, and trying to beat my score in the countries of the world quiz. I'm looking forward to meeting others and talking up PNB!

  • Dasnoor Saini

Hi, my name is Dasnoor (she/her), and I’m in my second year of BioPNB! As an ambassador, I’m excited to help plan fun social events for our lovely PNB community and make more psych-inclined friends. • Arnav Mahajan

My name is Arnav (he/him) and I'm in my 3rd year of general PNB. I'm a big fan of Star Trek, Dune, and basically any other show, book, or movie that involves sci-fi. I really love PNB because the program feels way more personal and it is way easier to get to know people. I'm also a really big history buff so if you ever see me on campus ask me for a fun history fact!

  • Tara Esbati

Hi! My name is Tara (she/her) and I'm a 2nd year general PNB student. As an ambassador this year I'm super excited for all the events we have in store for you all! Hi! I'm Ana (she/her) and I'm in my 4th year of general PNB. I love drawing and writing, and I'm always busy brainstorming new ideas for stories. My favourite thing about being in PNB is having the opportunity to learn about and participate in all kinds of research. I'm also really into neurophysiology, so it's a pleasure to be able to take classes where I can learn about it in depth. This year, I'm looking forward to working on my thesis in the Dukas Lab and collaborating with fellow PNB Society members to plan our PNB Formal. Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions about PNB, or just to say hello!

  • Regina Barrios

Hi guys my name is Regina (she/her) and I am in my first year of general PNB (B.Sc). When I have free time, chances are you’d find me rock climbing, practicing yoga or hiking near Cootes. Being in general PNB is great because I have freedom to broaden my learning through elective space, while having a foundation in topics like cognition and neuroscience. I am most looking forward to meeting new people in PNB this year!
